Gwangjangnim Han-young and Chun Ki Do

Gwangjangnim Han-young Choi was born in Kyongkido Korea December 11, 1935. He began his formal martial arts training at the age of four, instructed by his father (Chun-san Choi) and his uncle (Man-san Choi), in 1939 to learn his family's martial arts system, a system based on stepping, spinning, and jumping. At 8, his father admitted him into a Buddhist monastery to receive a more formal education and to continue his martial arts training. It was at the monestary where he learned breath control, mind control, and the classics. He learned Taekwondo Mudokwon from the late Grandmaster Hwang Ki and Hapkido from the late Grandmaster Jang-in Moke. In May 1974, he established the World Chun Ki Association to help spread his knowledge of his Martial Arts to the world. He has trained over 50 thousand students over Asia, Europe, and America, and is considered by many as one of the only surviving original Hapkido Grandmaster.
